What is cold pressed juice and why is it better?
All of our juice is extracted using a hydraulic press. This method minimizes the disruption of the vitamins, minerals and live enzymes during the juicing process and maximizes the nutritional benefit our bodies love. Other juicing techniques introduce more heat, which in turn increases the deviation from a natural state and degradation of the nutrients.
Fresh, cold-pressed juice is smooth, flavorful, nutrient dense and unlike any other juice you will taste.
When it comes to juicing, we think cold-pressed is the coolest.
What exactly is Switchel?
Switchel is a brew we make based on a recipe used by farmers dating back to the 1800’s. Farmers enjoyed the drink as a way to cool down while working in the hot fields.
We have added a few modern day twists to our Switchel. We use 5 simple ingredients when making our delicious brew: Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar, Organic Lemon juice, Organic Michigan Maple Syrup, Organic Ginger Root and Organic Turmeric Root.
Here are a few reasons why Switchel should be your new favorite drink.
Benefits of Switchel:
• Ease pain & inflammation
• Immune Booster
• Aids digestion
• Electrolyte boost
• Balances PH levels
• Mineral rich
• Made with Michigan maple syrup
It doesn’t matter what time of year it is — Switchel is delicious any season, warm or cold!
Is there anything added to your juice?
Our juice is exactly what it says on the label. We don’t add sugar or any additives. We always use the highest quality organic produce when making our juice. We support our local economy by buying produce directly from area farmers whenever possible.
What about fiber?
This is a great question when it comes to juicing!
Juicing is the process that extracts most of the insoluble fiber out of the fruit and vegetables while the soluble fiber remains.
Adds bulk to the stool, helps to keep the bowels regular, fills you up and speeds up the passage of food through the digestive tract. This is mostly removed from the juice although it is still present in smaller amounts.
Absorbs water like a sponge and provides bulking matter that acts as a prebiotic to support good bacterial growth and digestive health. It assists in regulating blood sugar control, may lower blood cholesterol and slows the transit of food through the digestive tract and helps fill you up.
When you remove the insoluble fiber and are left with the fluid part of the fruits and vegetables, it allows easier assimilation and absorption of the vitamins, minerals and other important phytonutrients across the digestive tract. Insoluble fiber slows down the absorption of many micronutrients, so basically juicing is fast tracking our nutrients!
How long is your juice good?
• Our juices should be stored in the refrigerator and have a four day shelf life.
• Switchel is shelf stable. Once it is open, it goes in the fridge and is good for three weeks.
